Good evening, and happy night before crosstown. By now most of you are probably aware that one of our teammate's parent has tested positive for COVID-19. That being said don't panic, most of you have not been in close enough contact with them for more than 15 minutes, so not a lot of need to worry. Some of you did have lunch together with them at school so I would recommend for your own peace of mind go get tested ASAP.
I talked with our school nurse and she said we are fine for now, however remember all those things we have been preaching. Wear your mask, wash your hands often, and social distance, which we are often not very good about. At this point our nurse said we are good to go for tomorrow and to run fast. Our nurse said we just need to wait for their test results to come back in . If they are positive then they will start doing contact tracing. So we will cross that bridge when and if we come to it. As the season nears the end, and COVID gets closer athletes and their families need to be extra careful for one more week so we can all make it to the end of the season. Tomorrow lets remember to stay away from everyone and isolate a bit at the meet and wear those masks up until race time.
So before you go to sleep tonight say a little prayers for everyone who is sick, thank God that you and your family are healthy, think happy thoughts, and visualize yourself having a great race tomorrow, and get some sleep. Bring LOTS of extra warm and dry clothes tomorrow.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to call me at 590-1094.
Take care, Sting
